Reciprocity

Reciprocity is the social norm of returning a favor — the give-and-take that keeps relationships balanced and healthy.

Reciprocity is the tendency to respond to a positive action with another positive action. In networking, it means giving value — intros, advice, help — before and beyond what you ask for, which builds durable goodwill.

Healthy relationships keep a rough balance over time; chronically one-sided ones strain.

Why it matters

Givers who track what they owe and what they're owed maintain stronger, longer relationships. Forgetting a promise breaks the reciprocity loop and erodes trust.

Wend keeps a reciprocity ledger for you — who you owe, who owes you — so the give-and-take stays balanced without you keeping score in your head.
