Warm introduction
A warm introduction is being connected to someone by a mutual contact who vouches for you, rather than reaching out cold.
A warm introduction (or warm intro) happens when a person you both know introduces you to someone new, lending you their credibility. It dramatically outperforms cold outreach because trust transfers through the connector.
The best warm intros use the double opt-in pattern: the connector checks with both sides before making the introduction, so no one feels ambushed.
Why it matters
Warm intros convert far better than cold outreach — they're how most fundraising, sales, and hiring actually happen. Knowing who can introduce you to whom is a real advantage.
Wend maps who you know where, so when you need to reach someone, it surfaces the warm path — and drafts the double-opt-in intro for you.
