Wend vs Goodword (2026)
Wend is an AI-native personal relationship brain: it captures from your conversations, email, and calendar, keeps a sourced relationship graph, and drafts your follow-ups. Currently in private beta (waitlist). Goodword is a shipping relationship agent that consolidates email, calendar, LinkedIn (DMs included), Luma, Granola, and CSVs, phones you for a voice debrief, turns the promises it hears into reminders with the message pre-drafted, and answers plain-language questions about what it remembers. It has an iOS app, a Chrome extension, twice-weekly goal-aware recommendations, an IRL Mode that swaps contacts by QR at events, and an MCP server it ships as 'Goodword in Claude'.
Quick verdict
Our verdict (disclosed: we make Wend): Goodword is the closest product to Wend that exists, and today it is the more mature one. Open signup, a native iOS app, Outlook as well as Gmail, an IRL Mode that swaps contacts by QR at events, a shipping Team plan, and the track record that comes with being further along. Wend has none of those six. Pick Goodword if you want the deepest shipping feature set this week and $299.99 up front is not a problem. Pick Wend if you want the memory to be independent of the app that reads it: our MCP connector is on the free plan and Pro is explicitly bring-your-own-AI, every stored fact links to the source it came from and nothing lands until you confirm it, the engine is open source under AGPLv3, export is free on every plan, and we serve the EU and UK under Standard Contractual Clauses while Goodword's own FAQ says it is 'currently available in the US.' The price ladder is $0, $8.99, and $14.99 a month against $24.99. Wend is waitlist-gated while an independent security assessment of our restricted Gmail scope finishes.

|---|---|---|

| Core idea | Memory that outlives the agent reading it: a sourced graph you own and can move | A relationship agent that does the remembering for you inside its own product |
| Where the intelligence runs | In the agent you already use. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Claude Code connect over MCP, and the connector is on the free plan | In Goodword's web and iOS app, plus an MCP server it ships as 'Goodword in Claude' |
| Sources it reads | Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, LinkedIn archive including DMs, .ics files, a browser extension, plus paste or upload of PDF, image, audio, and video | Email, calendar, LinkedIn including DMs, Luma, Granola, and CSVs |
| Outlook | Not supported. Google only today | Supported alongside Gmail |
| Mobile | Installable mobile web app for capture. No native app yet | Native iOS app |
| Collecting people at events | Wend Tap, a phone capture surface you link by QR. No badge scan, no contact swap | IRL Mode: QR contact exchange, plus events grouped automatically from your calendar |
| Voice | Voice notes into the app and spoken replies back | It calls you for a voice debrief |
| Promises | Extracted, then surfaced in the daily brief with the follow-up drafted | Extracted into reminders with the message pre-drafted |
| How a fact gets stored | AI proposes, you confirm. Every stored fact links to the email, page, note, or recording behind it, and you can open that source | Its agent does the remembering. We found no published provenance or confirm-step commitment to compare against (July 2026), so ask them |
| Audit trail | Every AI inference is recorded, and the full log is included in your export | Not something the material we could check addresses (July 2026) |
| Getting your data out | Full export on every plan including Free, gated by 2FA: JSON for the graph plus your original files | We could not find an export or portability commitment in their published privacy policy (last updated June 21, 2026) |
| If you stop paying | You land on Free and keep your graph. Self-serve deletion hard-purges inside 7 days | Their privacy policy, as of June 21, 2026, says cancelling without deleting pauses the account and retains your data |
| Selling and training | Never sold, and no model provider in our stack is permitted to train on your content | Their FAQ says data is 'never sold or shared with third parties' (July 2026) |
| Source code | The engine is open source under AGPLv3 as wend-core: schema, write path, provenance, recall | Not published as open source that we are aware of |
| Where you can use it | Stored in one US region. EU, EEA, and UK transfers run on Standard Contractual Clauses | 'Goodword is currently available in the US.' (their FAQ, July 2026) |
| Teams | Solo-private by default. Shared team access is custom and enterprise only | Team plan with a shared team network, admin controls, and roles, at custom pricing |
| Maturity | New, and waitlist-gated while an independent security assessment finishes | Further along: open signup, longer in market, more social proof |

Who should pick which
Pick Wend if…
- You want the memory to sit outside whatever agent you happen to use this year. The MCP connector is on our free plan, and Pro is bring-your-own-AI on purpose.
- You want a source on every fact and a confirm step before anything is stored. Provenance cannot be added later to facts that were saved without it.
- You would rather check the claims than trust them: AGPLv3 engine, export free on every plan, no vendor in the stack allowed to train on your content.
- $299.99 up front is more than you want to commit to a tool you are still evaluating.
- You are in the EU or the UK. Their FAQ says Goodword is US-only; we serve you under Standard Contractual Clauses.
Pick Goodword if…
- You want to sign up and start this afternoon. Wend is still waitlist-gated.
- Your mail is in Outlook. Wend connects Google only right now.
- You want a native iOS app rather than an installable web app.
- You collect people at events and want QR contact exchange with events grouped for you. IRL Mode does that and Wend has no equivalent.
- Your team needs a shared network with admin roles. That is a shipping plan for Goodword and a custom arrangement for us.
- A phone call that debriefs you after meetings sounds like the habit that would actually stick.
A relationship brain that maintains itself.

Wend vs Goodword: FAQ
Is Wend or Goodword better?
It depends what you are optimizing for, and we will be straight since we make Wend. Goodword ships more today: open signup, a native iOS app, Outlook support, IRL Mode QR capture at events, and a Team plan. If breadth this week is the test, Goodword wins it. Wend optimizes for the memory being yours and portable: provenance on every fact, a confirm step before anything is stored, an AGPLv3 engine, free export on every plan, the MCP connector on the free plan so your own agent does the work, and EU and UK availability under Standard Contractual Clauses. Wend is waitlist-gated today.
What does Goodword do that Wend does not?
Five things, plainly. It is open for signup while Wend is waitlist-gated. It has a native iOS app; ours is an installable web app. It connects Outlook; we are Google-only. Its IRL Mode exchanges contacts by QR and groups events from your calendar; we have no equivalent. It sells a Team plan with a shared network and admin roles; shared access in Wend is a custom arrangement. It has also been in market longer, with the reviews to show for it.
How much does Goodword cost compared to Wend?
Goodword is $24.99 a month, or $299.99 for a year billed as a single upfront payment, with a 7-day full-access free trial and a custom-priced Team plan (as of July 2026; verify at goodword.com). Wend is $0 on Free, $8.99 a month on Pro ($89 a year), and $14.99 on Max ($149 a year), and every account starts with a 14-day free trial of Max.
Does Goodword work with Outlook? Does Wend?
Goodword supports Gmail and Outlook. Wend supports Google only right now: Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts. If your work lives in Outlook, that is a real reason to pick Goodword today. Outlook is on our roadmap and not shipped, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Can I use both of them from Claude?
Both ship an MCP server, so yes. The difference is where the connector sits and what it may do. Goodword ships 'Goodword in Claude' as a way to reach its app. Wend puts the MCP connector on the free plan and builds the Pro tier around it: bring your own AI, and the graph is the product. Anything an agent writes over MCP arrives as a proposal, and no agent can approve its own write.
Is Goodword available in Europe?
Their FAQ says 'Goodword is currently available in the US.' (checked July 2026). Wend serves the EU, EEA, and UK: data is stored in a single US region and transfers run on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, Decision (EU) 2021/914, plus supplementary technical measures. GDPR asks for a valid transfer safeguard rather than EU residency, and to be clear we do not offer EU residency.
Can I move my data from Goodword into Wend?
Wend imports CSV, a LinkedIn archive, .ics calendar files, and anything you can paste or upload, so whatever you can get out in those shapes comes in and gets deduped against what is already there. Whether Goodword hands you a file, ask them: their published privacy policy as of June 21, 2026 does not commit to an export.
